Casa Del Sol, Sozopol

I was walking along the sea front in the new town of Sozopol looking for something to eat, I had thought I wanted a takeaway but then I came across the menu of this restaurant. I saw that they had fish soup and I immediately wanted it, I had to have it. I figured they wouldn’t be able to give me takeaway so I sat in, on the terrace looking out onto the sand below.

Haberdashery, Crouch End

With my maternity leave I’m making the most of midweek brunching and generally hanging out in cafes drinking tea and eating cake.

Granger & Co.

This year my life was turned upside down with the arrival of my beautiful baby boy (I’m biased of course but he really is beautiful). While I was pregnant, and no longer able to drink tequila and stay up past 9pm without yawning profusely, I had to find another way to enjoy myself. Shockingly that pleasure became food! This time however in the form of brunch.

Emporium Tea Rooms

IMG_7046

I visited these tea rooms with an offer from Groupon, saw the deal and thought I’d try it out.
It’s a really cute cafe with a main room and a side room that is used for parties and classes of various kinds. When I arrived at around 12pm it was quite quiet, which was perfect for having a good girls catch up. The place did get busier with a mixture of families and couples coming in for a range of refreshments.

Bills

Chilis at Bills

I visited the Bills in Covent Garden with a close friend. I have been to the branch in Reading and in Brighton before but have never had my camera with me. I really like the style of the restaurant, how their produce lines the walls, the relaxed cafe atmosphere, and delicious food.

Kleiner Olymp

IMG_1377

Kleiner Olymp is a restaurant situated in the Schnoor part of Bremen, the oldest part of the town, with narrow winding cobbled streets. In amongst the shops are cafes and restaurants, plenty to choose from, but I wanted something traditionally German, and this restaurant sells the Bremen specialities.

Rival Cafe

Cafe Rival

Last month I went to Stockholm in Sweden. Their food is well known for having odd combinations and a lot of fish (herring in particular) so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

We visited the Rival Cafe, part of the hotel and bar that is owned by Benny from Abba. This was the main reason we decided to visit. But on arrival we noticed that it wasn’t just tourists or people who were staying at the hotel in there. There was a large amount of Swedish locals eating and drinking their morning coffee.

Afternoon Tea at the British Museum

IMG_9870

For several months now my friend Hilary and I have been meaning to go for tea at the British Museum. It was originally meant to be for my birthday in June but kept getting postponed. But finally we made it.
It’s such a beautiful setting, placed on top of the reading rooms under Norman Fosters roof which I love.

Viet Hoa

Viet Hoa- Pho

I have been here a couple of times and it is a really lovely restaurant. Minimal in decoration and style but works very well. Even the toilet has been done well, hidden in with the wall on one side. We were sat on a table right next to it, and you didn’t get that feel of “oh no were sat next to the toilets”.
